More or less I should text a praise quite similar to that for 'The Divine Abstract’. Well, here no multi-ethno insruments are listed; with exception of bodhran. But this album is as colorful as its precursor and i.m.o. reveals even more shrewdly balanced complexities, which again lead to feel peacefully perplexed or exited or (please don't laugh) "healed"; while & after listening. Fans of e.g. Oregon, M. Oldfield, yMusic or Bang on a Can's melodic works should check Charlie Cawoods marvels. ROWIAL
77 minutes of pure delight - a brilliant singer-songwriter album, leaving nothing to be desired. Emily Bezar creates her own unique art in music that easily outdistances many so-called progressive artists. I'm indebted (once again) to Alan Benjamin of "Advent" for pointing me to a stunning artist I didn't know before, but who has immediatly become one of my favorites. There are still more jewels to be found in Emily Bezar's back catalog... Sven B. Schreiber (sbs)
Craig Fortnam is well known for being the creative mastermind behind names like "Shrubbies", "North Sea Radio Orchestra", "Arch Garrison", and, well, "Craig Fortnam", of course. He's from the big family of musicians and composers revolving around the cult band "Cardiacs", all of which share some undeniable and hard-to-describe common quality in their songwriting. "Instrumental Music 1" is quite some unspecific title for the wide range of unique avantgarde tracks he has released only recently. Sven B. Schreiber (sbs)
Bedroom pop with gentle electronic accents from Josh Thorpe, who paints sweetly intimate portraits of everyday love. Bandcamp New & Notable May 9, 2023
In 2019, I was in Salisbury and attended the Alphabet Business Convention without knowing any artist. Lost Crowns was my favourite band that played there. Pablo P.
